01Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how Nido (“Nido,” “we,” “us”) — the AI home-planning service at mynido.io — collects, uses, shares, and protects your personal information, and the rights you have. It applies to the Nido website and app.
We aim to collect only what we need to help you plan and move into your home, and to be clear about how it is used.
02Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account details: your name, email address, and profile image, provided through our authentication provider when you sign up.
- Your home data: the homes, rooms, items, quantities, budgets, prices, brands, retailers, notes, and style preferences you add.
- Photos: images you capture or upload when scanning items and packing bins with the Move Tracker.
- Collaboration data: the email addresses you use to invite collaborators, and messages or prompts you send to the AI assistant.
Information we collect automatically
- Usage and device data: pages viewed, features used, actions taken, approximate location (from IP), browser and device type — collected through analytics and cookies.
- Cookies and similar technologies: used for sign-in, preferences, and analytics (see Cookies and consent below).
03How we use your information
We use your information to:
- provide, personalize, and maintain the service — building your checklists, budgets, product suggestions, and inventory;
- run the AI features, by sending the necessary context to our AI providers to generate your results;
- enable collaboration and sharing with people you invite;
- send you service and transactional emails (such as welcome, invite, and account messages);
- understand usage, fix problems, and improve the product through analytics;
- protect the service against fraud, abuse, and security threats, and comply with legal obligations.
04Legal bases (GDPR)
If you are in the EEA or UK, we rely on these legal bases:
- Contract — to provide the service you sign up for.
- Legitimate interests — to secure, analyze, and improve Nido, in a way balanced against your rights.
- Consent — for non-essential cookies and analytics; you can withdraw it at any time through our consent banner.
- Legal obligation — where we must process data to comply with the law.
06AI processing
To generate suggestions, checklists, image recognition, and answers, Nido sends the relevant context — such as your rooms, items, style, and prompts — to our AI providers (Anthropic and OpenAI). Under their business API terms, your inputs and outputs are processed only to return your result and are not used to train their models. We do not send more than is needed to produce your result. Your Ask Nido prompts are recorded in analytics only by length, never by their text.
07Affiliate links and advertising
Nido participates in the Amazon Associates Program and may use other affiliate networks, so we can earn a commission on qualifying purchases made through links in the app. When you click an outbound link, the destination retailer receives the request and may set its own cookies under its own privacy policy. Nido does not run third-party advertising networks and does not share your data for cross-context behavioural advertising.
09Data retention
We keep your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. When you delete your account, we delete your homes, rooms, items, photos, and related records, though some minimal logs may be retained briefly for security, fraud-prevention, and legal reasons before being removed.
10Security
We protect your information with encryption in transit, access controls, and reputable infrastructure providers. No online service can be completely secure, but we work to safeguard your data and will notify you and the authorities of a breach where the law requires.
11International data transfers
Nido and its providers may process your information in the United States and other countries whose data-protection laws may differ from yours. Where we transfer personal data out of the EEA or UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.
12Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- access the personal information we hold about you, and receive a copy (portability);
- correct inaccurate information or complete incomplete information;
- delete your information;
- restrict or object to certain processing, including profiling;
- withdraw consent at any time, without affecting prior processing;
- lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.

13California privacy notice (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it, to request access and deletion, to correct inaccurate information, and to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information.
Nido does not sell your personal information, and does not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. You can still opt out of analytics cookies through our consent banner. To make a California rights request, contact [email protected]; we will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
14Children’s privacy
Nido is not intended for children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact [email protected] and we will delete it.
15Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app or by email.
